Yesterday, reports surfaced about a possible Apple event scheduled for later in October, where a range of new Macs, including the much-anticipated M4 MacBook Pro, is expected to be unveiled. Today, two leaked unboxing videos of the MacBook Pro with the M4 chip have emerged, revealing its design, key specifications, and Geekbench test results for the new Apple M4 processor. Notably, Apple expert Mark Gurman has reposted the video, calling it “unprecedented” and stating that while it is unconfirmed, it “looks fairly legitimate.”

The first video appeared on the Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom, where the host unboxes the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M4). The video showcases the box design, its contents, including in-box accessories like the charging adapter and cables, and provides a look at the laptop’s sleek new design. The host also sets up the device, giving a first look at the MacBook’s startup screen and general interface.

These leaked videos have further fueled anticipation for Apple’s rumored event later this month, where the M4 MacBook Pro is expected to be officially unveiled.

Design-wise, the M4 MacBook Pro maintains a familiar look, closely resembling its predecessor with a boxy aesthetic. Interestingly, the wallpaper shown in the leaked video is the same as the one featured in the M3 MacBook Pro, which is unusual since Apple typically updates the wallpaper with each new release.

• Processor: The MacBook is powered by the unreleased M4 processor. According to the video, this chip comes with a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. This is an upgrade from the M3 base model, which had an 8-core CPU.
• Memory: The base model includes 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
• Ports: It features three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one HDMI port, a MagSafe socket, and an SD card slot. Notably, it seems to have an additional Thunderbolt port compared to its predecessor.

The new MacBook appears to have a stronger CPU, more RAM, and more connectivity options in its base configuration.

This demonstrates a significant performance boost over the previous model, as per the leak.

In another leaked video, the About Mac section in the MacOS settings confirms that this model is slated for November 2024, aligning with what Gurman has been suggesting regarding the release timeline.

Gurman and other leakers have commented on this unprecedented leak, with one calling it “probably the biggest warehouse leakage” they’ve encountered.
