What’s great about the WD Black SN770M M.2 SSD?
This SSD first made its debut in 2023, and we thought it was simply overkill for gaming. Now, this isn’t a bad thing, especially when you consider that you’re going to get max transfer speeds of up to 5,150 MB/s. In 2025, that speed is a little more reserved at this point, with other M.2 SSDs topping out at over 7,000 MB/s.
With that said, you’re still going to get great speeds with the Western Digital, and it’s going to be more than enough for any PC gaming handheld out there right now. Furthermore, this SSD can be used to upgrade Microsoft’s Surface Pro products, which is a good thing since adding storage via the brand can be quite expensive.
When it comes to reliability, you’re getting a pretty solid SSD here, but just in case you’re worried, Western Digital provides a five-year warranty. For the most part, you’re getting an SSD that offers pretty good performance and lots of storage space at a great price.
