Marvel fans will have another game to play on Steam for PC soon. The mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions is going to be ported to Steam after finding major success on mobile platforms. The news comes from an announcement made by developer Kabam Games.
In a video shared on the official Kabam Games YouTube channel, they revealed that Marvel Contest of Champions will be available on PC very soon. However, they did not share an exact date for when Marvel fans could expect to download the game on Steam. Instead, the company teased that an official date would be coming in the near future, but expect to see the game ported over soon. No date or release window was shared at the end of the video.

It was revaled that pre-registration for the game on Steam has opened up ahead of the game’s release. Everyone that does pre-redister will unlock new gear and items for when Marvel Contest of Champions launches on PC.
Both the original mobile version and the upcoming PC version will support cross-play and cross-progression, allowing players to continue their progress on both platforms. For many who have spent a lot of time playing Contest of Champions already, this will be a helpful feature. For now, there is no deadline for pre-registration, but more details about it could be released by Kabam Games in the coming months.

Marvel Contest of Champions first launched on mobile devices in December 2014. The game grew in popularity among Marvel Comics fans and garnered over 100 million downloads. A lot of the success was due to the game being free-to-play on mobile, allowing anyone to jump in and start playing.
Since then, Marvel Contest of Champions has included over 300 Marvel superheroes on the roster, with more than a decade of updates that have refined the gameplay. When the game launches on PC, Kabam Games promised fans that it will receive monthly updates and events, much like the mobile version.
Most events in the game have tied into various Marvel Comics arcs, as well as specific popular Marvel characters like Deadpool and the X-Men. A few events in the game have also had some relation to upcoming Marvel Studios films releasing in theaters, such as The Thunderbolts movie.
For now, we’ll have to wait for a specific release date by Kabam Games to play Marvel Contest of Champions on PC. Marvel fans have been enjoying the game for a long time already, so the wait shouldn’t be that bad for them. Marvel Contest of Champions is playable now on iOS and Android mobile devices.
