Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion trailer covers the basics of combat ahead of Nintendo Switch 2 release

Marvelous Europe is building up hype for its upcoming title, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, with a brand new trailer exploring the game’s battle mechanics. On Monday (May 6th, 2025), the video game company dropped the new visuals entitled “Combat Basics,” which is set to be the first in a series of videos exploring the game’s gameplay and new features.

The video offered a detailed look into the mech-inspired game, with an array of weaponry at the player’s disposal. Weapons include blades, bows, bazookas, missiles, and railguns, along with a scanner to detect your enemy’s weaknesses. Take a look at everything included in the “Combat Basics” visuals below.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion leans heavier into action than its predecessor

Unlike Daemon X Machina, Titanic Scion leans heavily into the spirit of an action-adventure vibe as opposed to the mech-specific battles. The trailer doubles down on this direction as it shows off a playstyle that blends the essence of Monster Hunter, Xenoblade, and Bayonetta all in one single-player, mecha-themed adventure with combos and gaggles of monstrous enemies to boot.

The visuals also provide a detailed look at more robotic foes while offering a glimpse into knockdown and grab attacks in the new game. And in some cases, you can use these grab mechanics to rip off a foe’s parts, repurpose them, and, well, beat them over the head with it. Actually, hilarious. With all these new and returning features, the game is a departure from its predecessor, something that the official press release for the game slightly acknowledged.

“Created and produced by Kenichiro Tsukuda and featuring stunning mechanical designs from Shoji Kawamori, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion takes the franchise in a dramatic new direction. Join the Reclaimers in their fight against the Axiom. Humanity’s battle for liberation begins now,” a press release sent to XDA read.

New features in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

  • A Titanic Evolution – “Daemon X Machina’s high-octane armored action debuts on a new generation of platforms, bringing with it an epic sci-fi adventure, gameplay that’s accessible to newcomers, and an expanded scope sure to satisfy returning fans.”
  • Build a Better You – “Now a nimble suit of armor, each Arsenal can be fully customized both in design and in loadout, with the ability to craft or salvage new elements.”
  • Together You Can Make a Difference – “Cooperative and asynchronous multiplayer means players never truly fight alone. Team up with friends online to tackle the epic story and battles together.”
  • Beautiful and Deadly – “Explore an alien planet in an Arsenal as players battle against mechanical and organic enemies. Trek through the vast open world on foot, fly through the skies, or when all else fails, gallop on horseback across plains, swamps, mountains, and more.

Additionally, to add more hype to the Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion train, Marvelous Europe is now holding a sale on the previous Daemon X Machina effort. Daemon X Machina is currently on sale at an 80% discount, for $9.99 on Steam. The sale will run until May 12th, 2025. Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is releasing on September 5, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and the PlayStation 5.
