Godrej & Boyce has appointed Vijay Balakrishnan as new Chief Digital and Information Officer. Balakrishnan said that in his new role, his primary focus will be “overall technology-driven transformation of Godrej & Boyce – both internally (with the business units and functions) and externally (with our products).”
Balakrishnan has previously worked as Chief Data Officer at both United Phosphorus, Michelin and GE Transportation. With prior experience in the respective space, he plans to drive digital transformation and innovation at Godrej & Boyce by being customer-centric in determining technology roadmap. He aims to build in-depth understanding of business and collaborating with them in finding the needs and opportunities for technology-driven value.
“Being inclusive in ensuring business stakeholders are fully aligned on the value and driving the digital initiatives. Being scientific in calculating ROI on all technology investments will help drive innovation,” he said.
Balakrishnan highlights specific areas that he foresees significant digital advancements in. This includes product transformation, business functions transformation – commercial, sales, procurement, finance, audit, digital manufacturing & industry 4.0, salesforce.com strategy, roadmap & implementation, cyber security, cloud migration, data & analytics, enhanced digital experience – AR/VR.
