China and Southeast Asia unite for tech innovation at CHITEC 2024

The 26th China Beijing International High-Tech Expo (CHITEC), which
took place from 13-16 July at Beijing’s China National Convention
Centre, marked a significant milestone with the introduction of the
China-Southeast Asia Internationalisation Exchange (CSAIE).

Co-organised by MP Group with the China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT), the four-day expo aimed to foster
collaboration and innovation between China and Southeast Asian nations.

“The launch of CSAIE is a significant step in MP’s Tech-Leap strategy
to build and bridge the tech communities in China and the South-East
Asia nations,” said Jason Ng, managing director of MP Group. “With a
potential market size of US$395 billion and growing, we see a huge
opportunity for the tech players in both regions to connect, explore and
collaborate.”

The CSAIE aims to connect technology ecosystems across borders,
facilitating collaboration and exploration of new technology and
innovation opportunities. The event includes in-depth sharing sessions
by government and industry leaders from five Southeast Asian countries,
enhancing the scientific and technological cooperation between Chinese
and Southeast Asian tech ecosystems.

This year’s expo showcased six thematic exhibition areas focusing on
information technology, intelligent manufacturing, healthcare, green
energy, digital economy, and regional innovation and development.

The Internationalisation Roundtables at the event also provided a
platform for face-to-face discussions with government and industry
leaders about opportunities in Southeast Asian countries, while the
Southeast Asia and Global Tech Zone in the exhibition area featured tech
companies and their innovations.
