When is Inside Out 2 available to stream, rent and buy?

Inside Out’s protagonist Riley is now officially a teenager in the brand-new sequel from Pixar. She has just turned 13, and new emotions have entered her mind. Anxiety, Ennui, Envy and Embarrassment can be tiring, and Riley has to find a way to cope with them. As if that wasn’t enough, Nostalgia keeps getting to her consistently.

Inside Out 2 is the follow-up film to the 2015 animated feature that was a smash hit for Disney. Almost ten years after the movie’s release, Riley and her emotions return to face the world.

How to watch Inside Out 2 now

The Inside Out sequel is now available exclusively in cinemas.

In the US, the movie premiered on 14 June 2024. You can buy tickets on AMC and Fandango websites. UK viewers can buy tickets from Cineworld, Odeon and Vue.

When could Inside Out 2 be released on VOD?

The is the latest Pixar film, which means that it’s distributed by Walt Disney Studios. Usually, it takes around 45 days for a Disney movie to drop on VOD platforms. However, everything depends on how well the film will perform at the global box office.

So far, it’s performing very well, and Disney wants to capitalize on this popularity. Pete Docter, Pixar’s CCO, claims that Inside Out 2 will get a 100-day theatrical window, just like Disney’s other successful animation, Elemental.

Thus, the earliest Inside Out 2 could appear on VOD is mid-September 2024.

When could Inside Out 2 be released on streaming services?

The second part of Inside Out will surely hit Disney+, but there is no official word on when it might happen. 

The aforementioned Elemental hit streaming a month after its release on VOD. Following this lead, we estimate that Inside Out 2 will debut on Disney+ in the late fall of 2024.

When could Inside Out 2 be released on DVD/Blu-ray?

So far, it’s unknown when Disney will release physical copies of the film, but this will probably happen around a month or two after the streaming release.

If our predictions above are correct, the sequel to Inside Out will probably be available on DVD and Blu-ray in late fall or early winter 2024.
